We are looking to add some buil- in cabinetry on either side of our fireplace. Our kitchen (attached to this room) has white raised panel doors (Laurysen's Selkirk in Coconut) - we would like to carry this style over. In all we are looking to have:
- On either side of the fireplace: 2-3 base cabinets (approx. 12" deep), then bookcase/shelves with crown moulding that extend to ceiling (total height including cabinet and crown would be approx. 100").
- We would also like to pull out the fireplace out approx. 12" and add a Mantle/surround.
I've attached a photo of the wall as-is.
I've also attached a kind of "inspiration" photo. We are looking for something that would look like this (but probably not staggered height because of the Bulkhead and no lights beside the TV. Note, we would be mounting a TV above the fireplace as well. There is a conduit there all ready.
We would like to pull the fireplace out from the wall. We were told the max we could do this is 12" (for venting reasons). We would like to build out the wall above fireplace 6" or so and have decorative bead board there. We would like to do something similar as this to the fireplace (tile surround then mantle/surround)
